msmeta’s musings on the meaning of life at middle age — and beyond.
About me
I, msmeta, am a middle-aged, middle-class, middle-brow writer, reader, wife and mother languishing in a dusty corner of the Great American West. I have spent several years lurking online, but I'm ready to join the conversation. I just hope I have something to say. I'm particularly interested in issues facing women at midlife. Look for posts on books, American culture, middle age, thrift shops, shoes, family, politics, religion and maybe even the occasional rant if I'm irritated enough.
I have missed you and I hope you will post again soon. Meanwhile, as I have just written about a Good Cause Involving Shoes (now how often does that come up) I thought of you. Please go read my latest post and direct your — gosh is there a word for having to do with shoes, like sartorial for clothes or prandial for lunch or leonine for lions — energy in that direction. x Duchess
(please don’t stop blogging — you were almost my first blogging envy when you wrote that you woke up every morning with new ideas)

I saw that story, too. Seems like silly memes are now fodder for news stories.
